Darragh Murphy has won his class in the St George’s Motorcycle Club Sprint championship in Australia

The two-round series got under concluded at Eastern Creek Raceway just outside Sydney on Saturday.

Murphy won the clubman’s title and finished second in the Supersport 600 championship on his near-standard Honda CBR

“The lads he is racing all have new fully race-tuned bikes worth between AUS35,000 and AUS40,000 dollars each,” his father Martin explained.

“The bike Darragh has is a standard 2007 CBR600.”

His brother Andrew will be hoping for a family double this weekend. Andrew remains in contention for the Dunlop Masters Moto 400 class and with three races to run this weekend he will be hoping to overcome the gap to championship leader Damian Horgan.
