“I had this stupid rubber door seal coming down. It was getting stuck on my arm all the time. That’s just how the day was going.” He said.

Their Ford teammates Sebastien Loeb and Pierre Loubet are first and second overall, benefiting from a good road position in the loose gravel.

Saturday is the longest day of the rally, with the day’s six stages combining for a total of 147.98km, just under half of the overall event distance.

Craig and Paul will run first on the road – not at all ideal!
