Evan O’Grady ran his newly acquired Honda Fireblade for the first time at last weekend’s Dunlop Masters Superbike Championship last weekend.
O’Grady campaigned a Suzuki GXR1000 for the last two seasons but he sold that bike just after the May meeting.

He sat out the June meeting but returned to the track on Saturday with the newly acquired Honda.
He took a while to get used to the new machine, qualifying 19th for the Superbike Pro class. He finished 15th in his first race, ninth in his second race and 12th in the very wet final race of the meeting.
“I did not realise how hard I had to ride the Gixer,” he said. “This bike [Honda] just goes where you want it to go, it is a lot easier to ride around corners.” By the end of the weekend he added: “I am getting to grips with it, learning to ride it and not doing anything silly
