New Zealand-based Noel Moloney prepared for the Hawkes Bay Rally, the fourth round of the NZ Rally Championship by contesting the non-championship Rally of the Far North.
Moloney is currently in second place in the Category 5A Challenge standings after missing round three, the Rally of South Canterbury in June.
He and his driver David Sievers hope to get their title race back on track on the Hakwes Bay Rally on July 23.
In preparation they contested the Rally of the Far North ten days aga where they finished fifth after a day-long battle with Stephen Barker.

“On the way to the last stage we had drama when wheel bearing collapsed,” explained Moloney.
“We had a lead of 1 min 12s over Stephen so we needed to be conservative and not lean on that left hand corner as much. We came out at the other end with a 13 second margin – just enough to take home the win in class and secure 5th overall.” The Hawkes Bay rally will be based out of Napier but with stages located north of the city and up towards Wairoa
