Motorsport action is relatively local this weekend with the Moonraker Forestry Rally taking place just across the county bounds in Ballyvourney.
There is plenty of Killarney interest in the Saturday event.

Killarney and District Motor Club members Keith Cronin and Mikie Galvin are the top seeds. The Volkswagen Polo RC1 crew are using the gravel event as a high speed test for the following weekend’s British Rally Championship counting Nicky Grist Rally in Wakes which is scheduled for the following weekend. The pair are the current leaders of the BRC.

Headford co-driver Donagh Crowley will compete alongside local Ballyvourney driver Gerard Lucey in a Mitsubishi Lancer E8 and they will start at number nine.
Castleisland’s Denny Greaney will co-drive for Limerick’s PJ O’Connor in another Lancer.
Cyril Wharton and new co-driver Jason Russell will compete in a Subaru Impreza.
Kerry Motor Club’s Mikie O’Connor Jr and PJ O’Dowd will compete in an Opel Manta.
The club is also represented by Gearoid O’Reagan and Tony McCarthy. It will be Honda Civic driver O’Reagan’s first attempt at a gravel rally.
Mossie Costello is the sole Kerry representative in the junior rally and the Tarbert driver will be at the wheel of his Peugeot 107.
Just as newspapers and magazines are paid for, digital editorial content will also have to be paid for.
