Nagle and Breen unable to defend Rally of the Lakes victory
Nagle and Breen unable to defend Rally of the Lakes title
Paul Nagle will be forced to miss this year’s Rally of the Lakes due to a prior commitment with his Ford M-Sport World Rally Team.
The Aghadoe man became the first Killarney resident to win the rally in 2019. The international event makes a welcome return to Killarney after a two-year hiatus but Nagle and his driver Craig Breen will be on an extended test session in Spain and Portugal the same weekend.
“It will be very hard heading the airport when everyone else is heading to the first stage,” he said at the rally’s launch on Sunday last at the Gleneagle Hotel.
Breen and Nagle’s next World Rally Championship event is Rally Croatia this week. After that the Ford Puma Rally1 crew head to Portugal and the test session scheduled for the same weekend as the Rally of the Lakes is part of their preparations for that event.
