A father and son, Tom Sr and Tom Jr are set to head-to-head in an Irish motorcycle race this season.
Killflyn-based brothers Tom and Dylan McElligott are regulars in the Production Twin category of the Dunlop Masters Superbike Championship.
They started racing last season.
Dylan finished seventh in the championship’s standings last term while his brother, who was forced to miss the opening rounds placed 15th.
However, Dylan has decided he is going to spend a year or two in Australia on a temporary working visa.
He sold his Suzuki SV to his father to fund his trip.
Tom Jr will return to the series this season meaning father and son will race in the same class this season

“He needs to get his race licence, but he has seen us racing and now knows how it can be done,” explained Dylan. “He has done a few track days but, he has never raced – the time is right. He is 45-years old, it is never too late to try something. ”The Dunlop Masters Irish Superbike Championship kickoffs at the end of April.
