Just published by Dreoilin Publications is an expanded reprint of Wilf Fitzsimmons classic account of the Cork Motor Races which were held between 1936 and 1938.
With many new photographs included as well as profiles of Rene Dreyfus, Prince Bira and Dudley Colley this is a must for any Irish Motoring library
Told with the enthusiasm that could only be conveyed by one who was there, Wilf’s account tells how the Carrigrohane Circuit on the outskirts of Cork City hosted its first motor race in 1936, an event which was repeated in 1937 and then became the Cork Grand Prix in 1938.

The race was Ireland’s first and only race held to the International Formula.
This superb circuit with its daunting Carrigrohane Straight produced a series of memorable races.
Coming soon from the same publishers is a new book on the Ards TT
