Killarney co-driver Ger Conway is the top seed for Saturday’s Orchard Motorsport Kirkistown Stages Rally – the opening round of the McGrady Insurance Northern Ireland Rally Championship.
He is on pacenote duty for Monaghan’s Stephen Wright. The Ford Fiesta Rally2 driver is chasing his third consecutive victory on the County Down based event.
While Conway is best known for his work alongside Rob Duggan, including winning last November’s Killarney Historic Modified rally, he has competed with Wright in the past.
Wright and Conway finished seventh on last September’s Cork ‘20’ International Rally.

“We got on great, so going to Kirkstown and Mayo with him and make a plan from there, he’s not too interested in committing to a championship so just pick and choose.” Ger told Kerry Motorsport News.
The local man’s season alongside Wright will also depend on Rob Duggan’s plans for the year.
“I haven’t competed in the Northern Ireland championship since 2015 when I actually won the championship outright,” added Ger.
