Tales from the far side of the car – Rob Duggan’s co-driving adventure in Galway
Rob Duggan has warned his driver Jason Farrell that he will have to find a new co-diver for the West Cork Rally.
Duggan, the winner of the Killarney Historic Rally (as a driver) only agreed to co-drive for Farrell on last weekend’s Corrib Oil Galway International Rally as a thank you to his friend who gave so much helping him build his Ford Escort last year.
It was only Rob’s second time in the co-driver’s seat and, quite possibly his last.

He said before the rally that he was a bad passenger and the difficult conditions in Galway last weekend did little to change that viewpoint.
To his credit, he guided his Killarney friend to second in the Junior category and had to contend with a cancelled stage and an alternative roadbook too.
“It is all good,” he said, “But I have already told him to find someone else for West Cork.
Muckross man Jason was full of praise for his part-time navigator and even acknowledged Rob’s driving skills.
“He would do a better job than me on this side of the car,” he said.
