Former Kerry Winter Rally winner Daniel Cronin is set to debut a new Volkswagen Polo Rally2 on next weekend’s Corrib Oil Galway International Rally.
Cronin will be co-driven, as usual, by London-based Rockfield co-driver Shane Buckley. His previous Ford Fiesta was sold recently after nearly three years in his hands
The new car arrived at his West Cork base earlier this week and the team tested it over the weekend – đź“· Padraig O’Donovan

The car was previously owned by Italian outfit Step Five Motorsport and was used in Italian events.
Step Five hired the car to several different Italian drivers over the course of the last two years and won three rallies there.
It has also contested events in San Marino and France since Step Five started to use the car in early 2020.
The car will be familiar to fans of Craig Breen and Paul Nagle – the current Ford M Sport World Rally Team leaders – won last year’s Rallye San Remo.
On the same event, Cronin’s new Polo finished 13th in the hands of Marco Signor.
