There is always a Kerry connection and the more we seek them the more we find.
As part of Kerry Motorsport News’ extensive pre-Monte Carlo coverage we published a story on Wednesday morning on the Kerry connections to the world’s most-famous rally.
In case you missed you it, you can read that article here
Ronnie Adams, as mentioned in the original article, won the 1956 Monte driving for Jaguar.
His co-drivers/navigators/mechanics were listed as Frank Bigger and Derek Johnston at a time when all three crew members shared the driving, navigating and sleeping.
Since this morning’s article was published it has emerged that Bigger was a one-time resident of Killarney.

He was involved in the setting up of Kerry Tool and Die in Fossa in the early 1980s (where Spillane’s Car Sales is located now). He even attended early Killarney and District Motor Club meetings during the club’s early days.
