Warning for boy racers stay away from Historic Rally
Boy racers are not welcome at this weekend’s Rentokil Initial Killarney Historic Rally but if they insist on coming and disrupting the event the Gardai will be waiting for them
Killarney Garda have confirmed they will have an increased presence on the roads around Killarney this weekend.

Traditionally, this end of season event does not attract the unwanted element of boy racers that usually disrupt the Rally of the Lakes.
They are concerned that a number of boy racers may attend the rally and reports indicate that some sort of an illegal event is planned by these people that have no interest in the rally.
However, the May Bank Holiday event was cancelled this year and Killarney Gardai are concerned that these non-genuine rally fans way attempt to disrupt this weekend’s rally.
“We are putting extra resources on the roads this weekend,” Superintendent Flor Murphy said. “We want people to enjoy the rally but we must also ensure that our roads are safe for all road-users.”
