Donal Flynn and Niall Myers are to swap roles for the Rentokil Initial Killarney Historic Rally.
The Mid-Kerry pair have been rallying together since 2014. They finished fourth in class 11R on the recent Banna Beach Resort Kerry Winter Rally with Donal driving their usual Toyota Corolla Twin Cam.
However, Donal is going to move over to the navigator’s chair for the Killarney event, with Niall set to take the wheel for the first time.
Seemingly, it is the result of some sort of lockdown madness that instigated the change.
“We started out rallying together in 2014 Rally of the Lakes when we got a mad notion,” told Kerry Motorsport News.

“We are friends since childhjood and carried on doing crazy stuff. But during lockdown Donal said to me that we will we swap seats for a rally for the craic.”
Niall had to get his rally driving competition licence sorted for the event.
“I ain’t got a clue how Donal will manage the notes but sure we wait and see on Molls Gap,” added Niall. “He still owns the car too. It’s fair trust in a good friend for six world class stages.”
Both crew members are registered for the Moriarty’s Centra Kingdom of Kerry Rally Series – championship bosses are said to be concerned about how to manage a tie break situation should Niall equal Donal’s point on the Historic event.
