Round five of the Dunlop Tyres Motorsport Australia Western Australia Rally Championship is taking place in the Chidlow area and the forests surrounding Mundaring and Sawyer’s Valley on Saturday.
Perth-based Kenmare co-driver Murish O’Connell and his driver driver Gleen Cawood are leading the clubman category in the championship.
The Mitsubishi Lancer crew are back in action this weekend for the first time since the Karri Rally in August.
“We are out for a run again on Saturday,” O’Connell told Kerry Motorsport News. “There will be six stages for Clubman section. All new for us, using area around Chidlow and Mundaring . The last two stages are likely to be night stages for us which I’m looking forward to. Looks like it could be another wet event . It’s predicted to rain fairly steady in the days before so it will be a challenge for sure.”
