Belgian Rallying: Tour of Flanders report – mind the cuts!
Damian Fleming’s debut in Belgium was full of all the pitfalls a typical rally in that country brings.

While he and his driver Steve McCann failed to finish the rally – a broken driveshaft on Saturday ended their run – he described it as a great experience.
The big cuts, Belgian drivers put the whole car off the road, proved to be their undoing, as the Killcummin man explained to Kerry Motorsport News.

“It was great experience, we had a very eventful event , we slipped off the road on a very sandy corner on day one but we managed to continue thanks to spectators for getting us back on the road,” he said.
“On day two we broke a drive shaft causing us to retire , the cuts and ruts were very big ,on some corners they were putting the whole car off the road , we were not used to cuts like this , we damaged five wheels over the two days.”
