Colin O’Donoghue is contesting the third round of the Enduro Pro-Ride championship in Derry this weekend.
The Killarney rider, better known for his success behind the wheel of a rally car, took up two-wheeled motorsport as a result of a lack of activity on the rally front.
He finds himself in second placed in the Expert series, behind leader Jake Duggan from Clonmel ahead of this weekend’s event at Sherrards Pit near Limivady.
The KTM EXC 300 rider will race in the combined Expert and Premier class on Saturday afternoon.
The race will run after the combined junior, women, club and vets race and O’Donoghue believes this will have a bearing on his race later in the day.
“It is a very sandy course and it will get very cut up for our race and after the morning race,” he said. “It will be well-rutted by the time we get around.”
