Plans for Déjà vu Tralee are gathering pace.
Last week, organiser Dr Beatty Crawford, was back in Tralee where he met with Cllr Terry O’Brien and Ken Tobin of Tralee Chamber Alliance.
He also met with Marisa Reidy of Recovery Haven, the event’s nominated local charity partner.
While full details of the May 27 to 28 event have yet to be announced the involvement of these three influential Tralee people will ensure the event is a huge success.
The event will form one of several motorsport themed events in Tralee as Kerry Motor Club celebrates its 50th anniversary.
Two of Cllr O’Brien’s uncles were involved in the early years of Kerry Motor Club and when he was County Mayor a few years ago, he afforded a Civic Reception to the two motor clubs in Kerry as a thank you for the work they have done in promoting the county. He was the first, and so far only. Elected official to do this.
Mr Tobin was very supportive of Kerry Motor Club’s Rally Town event on the even of the 2019 Rose Hotel Circuit of Kerry. The Rose Hotel will be the headquarters of next year’s Déjà Vu Tralee event.
Marisa Reidy was the Motoring Editor with the Kerryman for years. She is now the fundraising and PR manager with Recovery Haven in Tralee.
Further local meeting between Déjà vu Tralee organisers, town officials and Kerry Motor Club, will be held in September as the town preparations for the May 2021 continue.
Expect more details of the event to be released following the September meeting.
The event is already attracting international media coverage with British weekly, Motorsport News carrying an article in last week’s edition.
