Motorsport Ireland is due to make a statement on the entry fees and budget issues that have delayed the potential return of rallying.
Last April, the governing body issued its Return to Rallying document.
It included a provisional calendar and a budget template for all rallies for the remainder of the year.
The budget included, for example, a set entry fee for all rallies. A nine-stage national style event is going to cost €1000.00 as opposed to around €750 in pre-COVID-19 times.
This angered the clubs, who believe they can run events cheaper and within their own budgets.
After the Association of Munster Car Clubs passed a vote of no confidence in the governance of the sport, MI invited all clubs to make representations in June.
This week’s statement is expected to be the response to those meetings.
Kerry Motorsport News understands that the statement will be issued on Wednesday of this week.
