Lorcan Hanafin took his maiden Porsche Carrera Cup GB race at Brands Hatch on Sunday.
Porsche Carrera Cup GB is the fastest single marque GT racing championship in the UK and Hanafin is in his second season racing in the category.
His win on Sunday more than makes up for the disappointment in the opening race of the season at Snetterton in early June. He won that race too but officials deemed he had jumped the start and furnished him with a ten-second penalty and that demoted him to third.

Sunday’s win was backed up with a seventh-place finish in race two means he now moves into third position in the championship after four rounds.
He said he hopes to carry the momentum into the next round at Oulton Park towards the end of July.
I’m absolutely delighted with the victory, in difficult conditions and very different to sunny Snetterton a couple of weeks ago. We had a shower just before the race started so it was tricky whether to go with slicks or wets, the track luckily had started to dry, my start wasn’t the best, but we battled through and everything seemed to fall in place,” he said,
Hanafin, from Guiseley near Leeds, can trace his family routes to the Ballinorig area of Tralee where his father Dermot grew up.
