Road run to mark Rally of the Lakes and to remember Johnny
Killarney and District Motor Club marked what should have been the final day of the 2021 running of the Rally of the Lakes by organising a road run over some of the county’s favourite rally roads.
A large group of rally organisers and competitors – observing social distancing at all times – met in the car park of rally headquarters The Gleneagle Hotel.
After a quick photo shoot the drivers headed off toward Moll’s Gap, Bealleaghbeama and Caragh Lake for a leisurely run over a route that is often part of the Sunday run of the famous rally.

Club members took time too to remember Johnny Hickey who was laid to rest last Tuesday.
His father Charlie and uncle John, two local rally legends, joined the run too.
