Craig Breen has won Rallye San Remo for the second time.
Today’s victory adds to his win on the 2019 event, making it two in a row as bad weather caused the late cancelation of last year’s rally.
The Waterford driver led the event after Saturday’s opening Power Stage but slipped to fourth on the opening three-stage loop on Sunday morning.
“There was rain in the middle of the stage,” said Breen after the second running of the Bartolemee stage, where his attack on the rally leaders started. “Apart from that, everything is ok,”
On following test, stage six, Colle D’Oggia he set fastest time and backed this up with a second place over SS7 Vigani to hold a 11.5 second advantage over Hyundai teammate and defending Italian national champion , Andrea Crugnola.
The grand finale was run over the classic 20km Cesio – Carpasio stage where he was third quickest and did more than enough to win the rally by 4.8 seconds.
