Local business backs Coyne’s UK efforts

Kevin Coyne’s hopes of contesting the British Superstock 600 championship have received a boost thanks to the generosity of a local business.

Dan Ahern of Ahern’s Pharmacy in Farranfore has stepped in to support the local racer as he graduates from the British Junior Supersport Championship onboard his new Kawasaki Ninja 636.

“Without the help of local companies, we would not be able to make this dream possible, even in these trying times for companies, I really can’t thank Dan enough for believing in me. I hope to do him and all who believe in me proud this year as I make the step up to the 600 class.”

Coyne is hopeful that pandemic-related restrictions will be lifted in time for a pre-season test in April. The British season has been delayed from its planned May 29-31. The opening round of the 2021 Bennetts British Superbike Championship will now take place on 25-27 June at Oulton Park, a month later than previously planned.
