Killarney motorcycle racer Frank Doherty is already planning ahead for next season after sitting out the entire 2020 campaign.
Doherty finished second in the 2019 Dunlop Masters Superbike Cup championship and was due to graduate to the main Superbike championship this year until COVID-19 got in the way.
He has already set his sights on the 2021 championship and has offered his 2015 specification race Yamaha up for sale.
If the sale is successful he has his eye on an ex-Team Build Base British Super Bike Championship Suzuki which he hopes to run in the Irish Dunlop Masters Superbike series next season.
He is one of about 20 Kerry racers already committed to the 2021 season.
The Kerry season traditionally gets underway with a pre-season test at the Cartegena Circuit in Spain every March. This annual trip is organised by Emmet and John O’Grady of JOG Tuning which is based
“The plan would always be to go Spain and see after that,” he said. “I was offered an ex-BSB bike, so I put my own one up for sale to see if there is any interest. I have got a good few calls already.”
