It is a busy weekend for Duagh native Noel Moloney as he is set to contest two rallies in New Zealand.
On Saturday he is entered in the City of Auckland Rally alongside his usual driver Quentin Palmer in a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO 5.
The eight-stage rally uses stages that were supposed to form part of the route of WRC Rally New Zealand until that got cancelled due to pandemic restrictions in the country.
The final two stages are at Jack’s Ridge and that is the venue for Sunday‘s rallysprint shoot-out style event.
Brake problems forced the pair out of the Rally of the Bay of Plenty last month. They will be hoping to put that behind them.
“The plan is to finish as far up as possible and to come away with a decent result after our Bay of Plenty retirement,” he said.
