Mondello Masters
Tralee motorcycle racers were deprived of the chance to race for national titles after last weekend’s final meeting of the Dunlop Masters Superbike Championship was called off at the last minute.
The two-day meeting was set for Mondello Park in County Kildare last Friday and Saturday (October 15 and 16) but as the country went into Level Three restrictions earlier in that week championship organisers were forced to cancel on Thursday evening.
Suzuki rider Darragh Crean was chasing the Production Twin class while Robert O’Connell had an outside chance at lifting the Supersport Cup title after the opening four race meeting in September,

However, as a result of the meeting’s cancelation championship bosses decided to annul the championship.
“Commiserations go to all those riders who looked set to pick up an award following strong performances in our September event, but with just four races run we don’t have sufficient results to declare a championship. All we can do now is look forward to a better season in 2021,” said championship spokesperson Fergus Brennan.
