Dunlop Masters returns to Mondello Park today – several Kerry riders on the grid

Dunlop Masters

Motorcycle racing resumes in the Republic of Ireland this weekend with the opening round of the 2020 Dunlop Irish Masters Championship set for Mondello Park in County Kildare.

Several local riders have entered the meeting.

Andy Murphy, from just over the County Bounds in Mountcollins in County Limerick will be hoping to capitalise on his two podium finishes at the recent King of Kirkistown meeting in County Down. Riding his newly acquired Triumph, Murphy took third place in both races he contested earlier this month.

Darragh Crean took a third and a fourth-place at Kirkstown on board his Suzuki in the Production Twin class while fellow Tralee man Robert O’Connell was very much on the pace in the Supersport Cup race riding his Yamaha.

Both riders are entered in Sunday’s meeting and will be joined by Emmett O’Grady in the Superbike class on his Honda. John Griffin is hoping to have the engine problems, in his BMW, that ruled him out of Kirkistown will be solved ahead of Sunday’s Superbike Cup races.
