Fassbender’s road to Le Mans continues this weekend with a return to Circuit Paul Ricard

European Le Mans Series

Michael Fassbender’s European Le Mans series has been hit by pandemic related restrictions. His third race in Europe’s premiere endurance championship was due to take place in Barcelona this weekend but problems there have forced a re-think.

Instead the series will return to the Paul Ricard Circuit in France, the venue for his first race with the Proton Competition team last month.

With his teammates Richard Lietz and Felipe Fernandez Laser, he finished in seventh place on that occasion.

“It took me five laps to find my rhythm,” he said. “After that, my times got significantly better.”

His main goal is the 24 Hours of Le Mans next year and this season’s progress will form part of his ‘Road to Le Mans’ YouTube documentary.
