It is a case of third time lucky for East Cork Hot Rod Club and racing is set to return to Kilflynn Track this weekend after two aborted attempts.
Cork-based ECRC has taken over the running of the north Kerry circuit.
Two previous attempts to run events there earlier this year were thwarted by weather alerts, first Storm Ciara and second storm Denis.
However, the club will compensate for the two previous disappointments by running two days of action this weekend.
“East Cork Hot Rod Club is delighted to announce the new date for the Season Opener and Round 1 of the drivers’ championship,” said an official club social media post. “Scrutiny is at 2.00pm Saturday with first race starting at 4.00pm. Sunday scrutiny will start at 10.00am and Racing Starts at 12.00pm.”
Prize-giving will take place at Herbert’s Bar in Kilflynn after Sunday’s action.
