Limerick Motor Club hope to re-schedule its forestry rally for April 18 or 19.
Sunday’s event was canned at the last minute after heavy overnight snow made it the route impassable.
The Limerick Forestry Rally uses roads on the Cork-Kerry-Limerick border near Brosna and includes sections of the Cordal Windfarm on Mount Eagle.
The Abbeyfeale-based event attracted a strong entry, including several Kerry Motor Club drivers and navigators.
Both clubs in the county, Kerry Motor Club and Killarney and District Motor Club sent large teams of marshals to the event.
A statement issued by Irish Forestry Rally Championship officials said: “It is with great disappointment that Limerick Forestry rally has been postponed, but it is in the interest of safety for all. Limerick Motor Club and Motorsport Ireland are currently working toward a possible rescheduled date for the event subject to agreement by all parties.”
The April date will have to put to the Motorsport Ireland Rallies Commission and neighbouring clubs before it can be ratified.
