Two Kerry co-drivers will contest this weekend’s Rally Sweden, round two of the World Rally Championship which gets underway later today.
Paul Nagle will return to the Hyundai Motorsport World Rally team alongside Craig Breen for their first WRC outing this season.
Joining them on the entry list is fellow Killarney-based co-driver Noel O’Sullivan who will compete with Jon Armstrong in a Ford Fiesta in the Junior WRC category.
Unseasonably warm weather in the region of the rally has required the itinerary to be shortened considerably from its original challenge. Crews are preparing to tackle a reduced 11-stage schedule, which gets underway on Friday morning.
“I am very humbled to have the chance of getting behind the wheel of the Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC again,” said Breen. “Sweden is a rally I enjoy. Hopefully the conditions will be favourable for us and the cold will arrive in the region for us to have ‘proper’ roads.”
