Organisers of the Moriarty’s Centra Kingdom of Kerry Rally Championship have announced the date and venue for the annual prizegiving and Christmas party.
The biggest social occasion on the Kerry rally calendar will take place on Saturday December 28 at the Anvil Bar in Keel – a premises owned by Kerry Motor Club member Stephen O’Connor.
Further details will be revealed nearer the big day. As well as handing out trophies to this year’s top three drivers and co-drivers, the top junior driver and the top historic driver, organiser will also put on free finger food and music.
“If its anything like last year it will be great craic,” said sponsor Mike Moriarty. “We chose the Anvil as Stephen is a member of one of the clubs and we want to keep it in the motorsport family.”
Organisers are also seeking nominations for the Paudie Casey Memorial Trophy, this award will be presented to person who went beyond the call of duty to make motorsport better in County Kerry throughout 2019 and it can go to a competitor, marshal or organiser.
The championship committee will decide on a winner but the result will remain a closely guarded secret until the night.
