The Killarney and District Motor Club (KDMC) has confirmed that plans are currently still in place to proceed with the official launch of the 2026 Rally of the Lakes this Saturday.
As the fuel crisis continues to impact the region, club organisers have acknowledged that plans remain fluid. Much depends on how the situation develops over the coming days, and patrons are strongly advised to check the club’s social media channels for the latest updates before travelling to the event.
Proactive steps have already been taken by the club in response to local travel difficulties. The planned Thursday night rally meeting was postponed as a direct result of the ongoing shortages and traffic congestion.
Despite the mid-week postponement, the club remains hopeful that the weekend proceedings can go ahead as intended. The official launch is scheduled for Saturday at 5pm at The Gleneagle Hotel, marking the beginning of the 2026 rally season for members and fans.
