KERRY CREWS DESCEND ON NENAGH FOR TRITON ROUND TWO
The Abbey Court Hotel Birr Stages Rally kicks off next Sunday, marking the second round of the Triton Showers National Rally Championship. With additional points on the line for the Top Part West Coast and Sligo Pallets Border championships, a significant contingent of Kerry competitors is confirmed for the Nenagh-based event.

Leading the Kerry modified charge is Mike Quinn, partnered by Kieran Doherty in their Class 14 Ford Escort Mk2. Quinn spent the three days in West Cork experimenting with new set up in the rear of this Escort.
He is joined in the Escort ranks by Dave Slattery and Denis Coffey (Class 13), while Sean Enright and Kevin Doherty contest Class 12.
In the historic category, Mark Falvey and James O’Brien bring their high-spec Ford Escort RS1600 to Class 19, following strong recent form. The Kerry interest extends into the co-driver seats across several classes. Ger Somers navigates for Raymond Spence in a Class 13 Escort, while Maurice McElligott sits with Mike Reddy in Class 12. John McCarthy joins Peter Wilson in another Escort, and John Falvey accompanies Eamon Daly in the Toyota KP60.
Michelle Quinn and Caz Somers lead the Women in Motorsport (WIM) interest for the county in their Honda Civic. Other local entries include Gary Healy/Niall Myers (Honda Civic) and John Corrigan/Niall Mulcahy in the Subaru Impreza. Kieran Murphy comeptes in a similar machine In the Dacia ranks, Kevin McCarthy continues his development in the Dacia Sandero.
Several Rally4 front-runners carry Kerry connections this weekend. Rising stars Oran England, Jack Harris, and Jack Kenned all major contenders in the Stellantis Cup and Junior serie boast Kerry grandparents, keeping the county’s influence strong at the head of the Rally4 field.
