There is always a Kerry connection Yeats Ridge Forestry Rally MIJRS contenders

Kerry connections featured strongly at the top of the Class 2 standings in the inaugural Yeats Ridge Forestry Rally, with two of the top five finishers boasting family ties to the Kingdom.

Donegal’s Jack Harris, alongside co-driver Aaron O’Regan, secured a hard-fought second place in his Ford Fiesta Rally4. Harris, whose grandfather hails from Ballyduff, led the rally after the opening stage and remained in a podium battle throughout the day, finishing just 15.1 seconds off the winner.

Inheriting fourth place after a final-stage shake-up was Oran England and co-driver Darragh Mullen in their Peugeot 208 Rally4. England, whose grandmother comes from Camp in West Kerry, used the Sligo and Leitrim stages to refine his car set-up and pacenotes, eventually finishing within the top five of the competitive Motorsport Ireland Junior Rally Series (MIJRS) field.

  2. Harris/O’Regan (Fiesta) +15.1
  3. Byrne/Harrington (Peugeot 208 Rally4) +33.9

  5. Cronin/Heffernan (Opel Corsa Rally4) +2:05.4
