South West Road Racing Club Elects New Board and Confirms 2026 Athea Dates

The South West Road Racing Club (SWRRC) is officially back in gear for the 2026 season following a highly productive and well-attended Annual General Meeting on Sunday. The meeting served as a vital platform for members to voice their passion for the sport, ensuring the club remains transparent and member-focused as it heads into a busy year.
The primary takeaway for road racing fans is the confirmation of the Athea Road Races, which are officially scheduled to take place from September 11th to 13th. This event remains a cornerstone of the Irish road racing calendar, and the early commitment to these dates allows for significant planning ahead of the autumn showcase.
A new board was ratified during the session to lead the club through this year’s operations. Paul McMahon takes over as President, supported by Michael Dalton, who will serve in the dual roles of Vice President and Treasurer. Olivia Quinn has been appointed Secretary, while Stacey Wogan will manage the club’s public image as the Public Relations & Media Officer.
In a statement released immediately following the AGM, the newly elected committee emphasized a collaborative approach to management:
“We don’t own the club, you do. We’re just here to work for you, running the business side so you can keep doing what you love—racing. We’ll keep you posted on progress, and we need your ongoing support.”
The club expressed its gratitude to the members for their patience during the lengthy meeting, noting that the input and concerns raised were invaluable for the club’s future. With the board now in place and the Athea dates locked in, the SWRRC is ready to “get cracking” on the technical and logistical preparations for September.
