Armstrong’s thoughts ahead of Rally Sweden
Jon Armstrong is preparing for his first snow event in a Rally1 car following his debut in Monte Carlo. The Fermanagh man, partnered by Shane Byrne, has strong memories of Sweden, having won the Junior WRC category there in 2022. He views the event as the “ultimate playground” for driving and is looking forward to experiencing the Ford Puma Rally1 on full snow tires.
“Hopefully we can have something a bit more consistent in terms of conditions compared to the first round of the season,” Armstrong said. “I haven’t competed in Sweden since 2022. The stages have changed a bit since then, so there will be plenty of new notes to write during recce, but I’m really excited for the challenge ahead.”
