Cavan-based rally driver Oran England will officially launch his 2026 motorsport campaign at Lough Owel Peugeot in Mullingar on Friday, February 6.
The 2026 programme will see the former two-time Irish Karting Champion tackle the Motorsport Ireland Junior Rally Series (MIJRS). This series is designed to test young drivers across both gravel and tarmac surfaces, offering the overall winner a prestigious nomination for the Billy Coleman Award. England, who transitioned from karting to rallying just two years ago, has quickly established himself as one of the fastest emerging talents in the country.
Beyond the Irish championship, England is currently finalising plans to make his international debut. He is in advanced talks with a Spanish team to contest selected rounds of the Portuguese Rally Championship, utilizing a Spanish-run 208 Rally4 to gain experience on the continent.
For the upcoming season, England will be partnered by Sligo-based co-driver Darragh Mullen. Mullen brings a high level of experience to the cockpit as the reigning British Junior co-driving Rally Champion.
The pair will compete in a Peugeot 208 Rally4 car, a machine that has become the benchmark for the class globally.
Lough Owel Peugeot Dealer Principal Barry Coleman stated that the dealership is proud to support a driver of Oran’s calibre.
Mr Coleman noted that hosting the launch in the Mullingar showroom is a great way to link the Peugeot brand with high-performance motorsport and invited all local fans to attend the reveal.
Oran England expressed his gratitude for the expanded partnership, noting that having the direct backing of Peugeot Ireland is a massive boost for his career. He stated that the goal for 2026 is to challenge for the MIJRS title while successfully making the jump to international competition in Portugal.
The launch event begins at 6:30pm at the Mullingar dealership and will include the official car unveiling, season previews, and networking for supporters and motorsport fans.
