Buckley and Kelly pair up for Galway International Rally
Rockfield co-driver Shane Buckley will partner Donegal’s David Kelly for this weekend’s Corrib Oil Galway International Rally.
The pair are listed as the eighth seeds in a brand-new Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 as they prepare for the opening round of the Irish Tarmac Rally Championship season.
This is not the first time the duo has worked together. Their previous competitive outings include a stint in a Volkswagen Polo R5 during the Sligo Stages Rally and two fifth placed finishes on the McKelvey Asbestos Bushwhacker Rally and the Trailer Parts & Spares Lakeland Stages Rally
The move to the new Škoda Fabia RS represents a major step for Kelly as he looks to challenge the established names at the head of the field.
Meanwhile, there has been a change to the lower end of the entry list as John Corrigan has confirmed his withdrawal from the event. Corrigan was forced to pull his entry for the opening rally of the season due to unexpected work commitments
