South West Road Racing Athea Club to outline 2026 plans at AGM
MOTORCYCLING

South West Road Racing Athea will hold its Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, January 27, as the club continues its efforts to revive road racing in West Limerick.
The meeting will take place at Brown Joe’s on Barrack Street, Athea, and will get underway at 8.00pm.
The AGM is an important date in the club calendar and as members review the activities and progress made over the past year.
Elections will also be held on the night to appoint a committee to guide the club through the 2026 season.
A key part of the meeting will focus on plans for the 2026 racing year, with discussion expected around organisation, scheduling and the practical requirements involved in running road races in Athea again.
Members and attendees will also have an opportunity to raise any matters relevant to the club or the future of road racing in the area.
The committee has encouraged all members to attend and has also extended an open invitation to anyone with an interest in road racing to attend too.
Community involvement remains central to the continued running of the event, and the club is keen to see strong local support on the night.
Light refreshments will be provided, and organisers are hopeful of a good turnout as preparations begin for the 2026 season.
Just as newspapers and magazines are paid for, digital editorial content will also have to be paid for.
