Marking 25 years since O’Sullivan’s championship success
Friends of Killarney garage owner Johnny O’Sullivan came together on January 3 to mark 25 years since he won the Southern 4 Rally Championship.
O’Sullivan won the Southern 4 regional title in 2000 driving a Ford Escort World Rally Car. He was the first local driver to use World Rally Championship technology in the county and the first Killarney and District Motor Club member to win the Southern 4 championship.

Members of his service crew Denis Hickey, Pat Murphy and Pat Sheehan organised a surprise meeting at Charlie Foley’s Bar on New Street.
One of his three navigators from that season, Pat Cashman, also attended and shared memories of the championship year.
