Crews in action over the Christmas Break

Three events over the Christmas period attracted strong Kerry interest, with solid results recorded across gravel and tarmac.

At the Boggeragh Rallysprint on December 29, James Spillane and Maurice McElligott claimed a Junior class win in their Seat Mii.

Frank Wharton and Denny Greaney finished sixthin class in a Toyota Aygo, with David Slattery and Ger Somers  two places behind in a Hyundai i10.

Aidan O’Leary and Trevor Roche were ninth in another Aygo.

Donegal’s Oisin McShane, guided by Niall Myers, secured a class win in a Peugeot 208. PJ O’Connor, with the double-jobbing Greaney again on the notes, finished sixth in class in a Ford Fiesta Rally2. Cyril Wharton and Anthony O’Connor completed the event in a Subaru Impreza.

At the JWA Turkey Run Rally, also on December 29  near Derry, Elaine Ní Shé co-drove Richard O’Lone to second in class in their Ford Fiesta Rally3. Brosna brothers Colm and Michael Browne retired their Ford Escort G3 with mechanical issues.

In Mondello Park, Colin O’Meara was the leading Kerry representative at the December 27 Carlow Car Club Christmas Rallysprint, finishing fourth overall in the  buggy category in his Speedcar.
