McElligotts receive Paudie Casey Memorial Trophy at county awards
Maurice and Lorraine McElligott were honoured at the Kingdom of Kerry Rally Championship awards night with the presentation of the Paudie Casey Memorial Trophy.

The award, named in memory of the late Paudie Casey, is presented annually to the person or persons who have made an outstanding contribution to motorsport in Kerry. The winners are selected by the championship organisers following nominations from Kerry Motor Club and Killarney and District Motor Club, with the decision kept secret until the awards night.
Speaking after the presentation, Maurice McElligott said he was shocked to hear his and Lorraine’s names called. He paid tribute to Paudie Casey, with whom he competed on many occasions, and described the award as a privilege and an honour to receive.
He also congratulated the county championship winners on the night, including Rob Duggan, Fergus O’Meara and Michelle Hickey.
