Hundreds of presents were delivered to University Hospital Kerry on Sunday afternoon as the Modified Cars UHK Toy Run proved another major success.

Car enthusiasts from across the county gathered with boots full of toys before travelling in convoy to the hospital, where the donations were handed over to staff from the Cashel Ward, the children’s ward at UHK. The gifts will be distributed to young patients who will spend Christmas in hospital.
The event was organised by Sam McElligott and a small volunteer team, who once again combined a passion for modified cars with a strong charity focus. This year’s run built on the success of previous events, with an increased turnout and a large volume of toys collected.
Santa Claus was also on hand at the hospital to greet participants and help welcome the convoy as it arrived.
Organisers thanked everyone who took part on the day, along with those who donated toys or supported the event behind the scenes.
