The clarification forms part of a number of regulation updates announced by the championship organisers following the successful introduction of the Wales Motorsport Fabrication Historic series at November’s Killarney Historic Rally. Focus now turns to the start of the remaining categories when the 2026 season gets underway at the Galway International Rally.
Under the updated regulations, the final round of the championship will carry one and a half times the normal points allocation, ensuring that the title race remains open to the end of the season while still placing value on consistency across the year.
Other changes for 2026 include the introduction of a controlled fuel policy for registered International category competitors. ELF Racing Fuel will be the control fuel and will be supplied by Euro M-Sport.

Championship scoring has also been confirmed, with competitors in the International, Modified and Junior categories counting their best six results from the seven-round calendar, allowing one dropped score. Historic competitors will count their best six results from an eight-round Historic schedule.
