Saturday’s Towers Hotel Killarney Historic Rally will feature a new media zone in Kenmare as part of the event’s tribute to the late Mike Gaine.

The rally is being run in Mike’s memory. He was one of Kenmare’s best-known rally supporters and a longtime member of Killarney and District Motor Club. The final corner of Moll’s Gap passes the entrance to the Gaine family farm, and both runs over the stage on Saturday evening will take place close to the entrance to his farm.
To mark the tribute, a live media area will be set up outside the Atlantic Bar in Kenmare from 4pm to 5pm on Saturday. Crews will pass through for short interviews while waiting for darkness ahead of the final stage run over Moll’s Gap at 17:45.
The addition is new for 2025 and will run in association with the Kenmare Marketing and Events Group (KMEG).
Rally commentary will be broadcast live from the location, and the leading drivers will to be interviewed.
Mike Gaine’s rally car will also be on display, and fans will have a chance to meet teams before the night stage begins.
A one-hour service halt will take place later at Kenmare Mart and this media zone will serve as short delay ahead of the halt
Cars will pull in at the Atlantic Bar for a short drive-through interview, so that the roadbook remains unchanged.
