Aherns BMW to Host Triple Mats M3 E30 Unveiling Ahead of Killarney Historic Rally
Aherns BMW in Castleisland will be the place to be on Friday as three BMW M3 E30s taking part in the Killarney Towers Hotel Killarney Historic Rally are unveiled for the first time.
Fans will get their first look at the number two–seeded car of Kris Meeke and Noel O’Sullivan, built by MATS Performance with Mats himself attending the event for a Q&A session. The unveiling will take place in the Aherns showroom between 3 and 4 pm sharp on Friday.
Meeke and O’Sullivan will appear alongside last year’s winners and number one seed Donagh Kelly and Rory Kennedy in another Mats M3.
Also being revealed is the MATS-built entry of drifting star Conor Shanahan and co-driver Andy Hayes which is the car Craig Breen won the Rally with in 2021.
Members of the public are welcome to attend the showcase, with further BMWs competing in the event also expected to be on display outside the dealership. Up to 12 examples of the iconic M3 are set to appear in Killarney over the weekend, marking one of the largest ever undertakings by the Netherlands-based MATS team.
Paul Ahern said he is looking forward to hosting the gathering and unveiling the cars:
“This will be a great event and thanks to all the crews for making the effort to come on what is a very busy day for them and a proud day for Aherns BMW. We are delighted to welcome rally fans and supporters to the showroom for this special event and to have my good friend Kris competing on my home rally in a BMW M3 in our special livery 35 years after Bertie Fisher won in the M3 will be special.
Ahern himself, along with co-driver Kieran Murphy, will also compete in another MATS Performance version of the famous M3.
