London-based Kerry co-driver Shane Buckley guided Donegal driver David Kelly to second place on the Donegal Forest Rally last Saturday.
The event, which was the final round of the Sligo Pallets Forest Rally Championship, delivered a day of fast-paced competition and close battles on the gravel stages around Donegal.
Victory went to local crew Eamonn Kelly and Conor Mohan, who claimed their first-ever win on Irish soil. Driving a Skoda Fabia RS Rally2, they set the pace from the opening Loughfad stage and maintained control throughout the day, finishing 31.1 seconds ahead of David Kelly and Buckley.
