Ballymac Vintage Club was delighted to recently present the proceeds from its annual Tractor and Car Run to this year’s chosen beneficiaries — Clogher National School and COPD Support Ireland.
A cheque for €1,560 was presented to the staff and pupils of Clogher National School, while €1,910 was handed over to members of the Tralee COPD Support Group.
The popular run took place on September 21 from The Halfway Bar, Ballymac, and attracted a large turnout on a sunny Sunday morning. A total of 119 vehicles registered before setting off on two separate routes.
The tractors enjoyed a scenic spin around the local parish, while the cars took in a longer run through Currow, Cordal, and Castleisland, before all returning to The Halfway for refreshments and the raffle.
Club members thanked everyone who took part or supported the event in any way. Special thanks were given to the many sponsors and local businesses who contributed raffle prizes, as well as to BG Motors Killarney, Brownes Agri Steel Castleisland, The Halfway Ballymac, and Horan Wedding Cars, the event’s main sponsors.
Appreciation was also extended to the neighbours around The Halfway for their cooperation and support on the day.
The club’s next event is planned for December 13.
