Stephen Walsh ends season with fun outing at Cadwell Park

Ardfert’s Stephen Walsh closed out his 2025 racing season in England last weekend, competing at Cadwell Park in the final round of the British Historic Racing Association’s final meeting of year.
Riding his 1970 Honda CB350 in the Early Stock Class it was Walsh’s first time at Lincolnshire circuit, but he felt the undulating layout suited his preference for road racing over short circuits.
The weekend was approached as an end-of-season outing with no pressure to perform. Walsh lined up in a six-lap race on Saturday and a seven-lap race on Sunday, using the event to gain experience and enjoy track time.
“It was my first time there and I only went for some end of season fun,” he said. “It was a brilliant weekend, I had a great welcome and it was cool to see Tralee mentioned on the entry list in the official programme, surely that is a first at a British Historic Racing Association meeting.”
With Cadwell completed, the Honda will now be put away for the winter, ahead of a rebuild and another assault on the Irish and Isle of Man road racing scene in 2026.
Walsh was the only Kerry-based rider to complete a full season in 2025. Insurance and organisational issues continued to affect the sport in Ireland, with many of the county’s 30-strong group of riders unable to compete
Both Darragh Crean and Alex O’Grady started their seasons in Northern Ireland but were sidelined after only a few events.
